Job Overview The Site Merchandising Assistant is a member of the Site Merchandising team which supports site operations, testing, and merchandising functions. They enhance Macys.com's success by partnering with business and support teams to ensure flawless site execution and launch new site features and systems enhancements. The team devises and recommends digital strategies that maximize the online assortment and drive site traffic. The Site Merchandising Assistant is responsible for achieving customer satisfaction and driving digital revenue by analyzing and setting up content on Macys.com. Their objective is to improve the foundation of the website's taxonomy and navigation, work on attribution of products, and analyze data to optimize the customer's discovery and selection. They optimize search, execute promotions and marketing tactics, perform site maintenance, maximize onsite assets, and use analytics to drive sales and conversion. Cross-functional partners include digital analytics, merchants, marketing, creative, pricing, affiliate, SEM, and SEO teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
  • 1-2 years of related experience.
  • Proficient in analyzing and interpreting data, managing Excel, and accurately understanding financial information.
  • Proficient with MS Office programs, especially Excel and Outlook, and knowledgeable in digital merchandising tools.
  • Skilled in taxonomy optimization, Product Detail Page enhancement, and on-site search term optimization.
  • Experienced in executing promotions, event optimization, and supporting affiliate and SEM strategies.
  • Capable of identifying sales opportunities, collaborating with merchant teams, and conducting competitive analysis.
  • Excellent in building strategic relationships across functions, demonstrating leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Dedicated to achieving customer satisfaction and improving the customer shopping experience.
  • Practices effective, clear, and continuous communication, ensuring others are well-informed.
  • Thinks creatively, analytically, strategically, and technically to solve problems and innovate.
  • Manages multiple tasks and projects, ensuring site maintenance and optimization of onsite assets.
  • Understands the digital retail landscape, competitive best practices, and collaborates with business intelligence teams for strategic site audits.

Responsibilities

  • Align data across all customer touchpoints and devices, support best practices across the competitive landscape, assist in promotion execution, brand shop execution, and facet and browse optimization.
  • Optimize Product Detail Pages, including size & fit information, attribution, tagging, page layout, images, reviews, and CGC optimization.
  • Manage taxonomy optimization, including header fly-outs and left-hand navigation; collaborate with SEO and UX teams to develop best practices.
  • Optimize on-site search terms, respond to trending phrases, and key brands.
  • Support optimizing event execution, including promo codes, PWPs, GWPs, sequencing, and boosting.
  • Assist in driving affiliate and SEM results through weekly submissions of top-performing offers.
  • Identify online opportunities to increase sales, conversion, and profit performance.
  • Strategize and collaborate with merchant teams to understand business strategy, objectives, and priorities.
  • Build strategic cross-functional relationships (Merchants, Marketing, Creative Production, Production, and Internal Site Merchandise Partners) to leverage necessary resources for best-in-class event execution.
  • Conduct competitive analysis to gain insights and develop strategies.
  • Seek opportunities to grow the business by improving the customer shopping experience.
  • Work with business intelligence, experimentation, and relevancy teams to understand and develop comprehensive strategies for site audits.
