About The Position

The Material Operations Manager is responsible for managing the internal materials & scheduling processes required inside an Eaton factory in order to drive the maximum adherence to the Master Production Schedule coordinated with the Network Planning team through the SIOP process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of three (3) years combined experience in Materials, Operations and/or Supply Chain Management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of one (1) year manager of people experience.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Torrance, CA will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage materials flow and transactions inventory to support the plant’s operations by deploying lean material flow.
  • Administration of Indirect and MRO purchasing function according to policies and practices determined by Eaton standards.
  • Support generation of short-term production scheduling aligned the plan defined by the Network.
  • Monitor execution of production schedule defined by the Network (schedule labor on factory floor, monitor execution of the production plan).
  • Escalate risks of material availability to the COE and Network teams.
  • Drive forecast attainment aligned with the MPS resulted from the SIOP plan.
  • Execute shipment schedule aligned with the customer priority dates aligned with the network and customer service team.
  • Champions and deploy continuous improvement leveraging tools such as internal assessments (MMA,OPA), visual management, standard work and value stream mapping as well as New Product Introduction and growth initiatives.
  • Maintain target inventory levels and meet OTD goals for both internal and external customers and overall freight targets (including premium freight) aligned with the plan defined by the network.
  • Responsible for plant owned data health activities including but not limited to routings and WMS system, MRO, shipping and receiving, part movements, production scheduling.
  • Serve as point of contact to escalations related to execution of the overall SIOP plan.
