About The Position

Midland Care Connection Midland Care Connection is a not-for-profit, community-based organization in Topeka, Kansas, dedicated to helping older adults and seriously ill individuals stay independent and supported in their homes. Established in 1978, we offer a full continuum of care, including hospice, palliative care, home health, grief and loss counseling, and our signature PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) program. Our mission centers on "meeting individual needs through innovative care solutions," and we serve people across multiple counties in northeast Kansas. Meals on Wheels Midland Care’s Meals on Wheels program in Topeka, Kansas, is a vital service that delivers hot, nutritious meals and wellness-checks to homebound seniors and individuals with disabilities in Shawnee, Jefferson, and Douglas counties. The program prioritizes individuals at high nutritional risk and is not income-based, allowing anyone who meets the age or homebound criteria to participate. With the help of hundreds of volunteers who deliver meals Monday–Friday, Midland Care supports independence, reduces social isolation, and ensures older adults receive balanced meals in the comfort of their homes. Dining Site Manager Responsible for overseeing daily meal service operations at a community dining location, ensuring that nutritious meals are served efficiently, safely, and with dignity to clients. This role includes coordinating meal delivery and setup, supervising staff and volunteers, maintaining food safety and sanitation standards, managing inventory and basic records, and fostering a welcoming environment for participants. The dining site manager also serves as a key point of contact between clients, volunteers, and the Meals on Wheels organization, helping to support the program’s mission of reducing hunger and social isolation among seniors and individuals in need. This position is located in Meriden, KS

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in food service, meal preparation, or kitchen management
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to supervise staff and volunteers
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to interact compassionately with clients

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing a community dining program or similar service
  • Basic computer skills for recordkeeping and reporting
  • First aid/CPR certification
  • Previous experience working with seniors or vulnerable populations
