About The Position

The Site Manager is responsible for the end-to-end execution of on-site project activities, from mobilization through commissioning and final acceptance. This role leads all field operations, ensuring safe, on-time, and high-quality installation of automated material handling systems while acting as the primary on-site interface with the customer. This position is a key member of the project leadership team and drives coordination across engineering, controls, commissioning, subcontractors, and customer stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in site management, construction, or industrial installation
  • Experience with automated material handling systems or robotics
  • Proven leadership of field teams and subcontractors

Responsibilities

  • Lead all on-site project activities from mobilization through commissioning and demobilization
  • Manage installation and integration of automated systems (shuttles, conveyors, AS/RS, robotics)
  • Drive daily execution to meet schedule, budget, and quality targets
  • Act as the on-site decision maker and escalation point
  • Own site safety program and enforce all safety standards (OSHA / local regulations)
  • Conduct daily safety walks, toolbox talks, and audits
  • Ensure subcontractor compliance with safety procedures
  • Drive a zero-incident culture
  • Develop and manage short-term and look-ahead schedules
  • Coordinate labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
  • Identify risks early and implement mitigation actions
  • Track progress vs. plan and adjust execution strategy
  • Serve as primary on-site contact for the customer
  • Lead coordination meetings
  • Communicate progress, risks, and recovery plans
  • Oversee mechanical, electrical, and controls installation
  • Ensure installation meets engineering specifications
  • Manage punch lists and inspections
  • Coordinate transition to commissioning teams
  • Support testing, validation, and acceptance
  • Lead site closeout and documentation
  • Produce site reports (progress, risks, safety)
  • Track budget, productivity, and materials
  • Maintain documentation and support forecasting
