About The Position

Under the general direction of the Property Lead, the Site Manager provides general maintenance and custodial services in accordance with the council’s policies and standards. The incumbent works closely with troop campers, service units, third-party organizations, staff, and participants in council program events to ensure a successful experience at camp. This position also provides lawn maintenance for the Fort Worth corporate office. This position requires the incumbent to live on site to provide 24-hour emergency coverage. The Site Manager will also prioritize diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging and access to ensure delivery of the best quality Girl Scout leadership experience for girls. The Site Manager will consistently exercise discretion and judgment with respect to matters of significance. This position is not routine, clerical or administrative in nature.

Requirements

  • Five years of experience in property management or equivalent experience.
  • Commitment to the mission and purpose of Girl Scouting.
  • Membership in Girl Scout organization.
  • Must be willing to work with all persons without regard to race, religion, ethnic origin, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, age, or disability.
  • Proven ability to work with volunteers, community leaders, organizations, and businesses.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and produce results.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Verbal fluency, good grammar and professional appearance.
  • Must possess excellent time management, self-starter, critical thinker, active listener, and goal-oriented skills.
  • Have and maintain a valid Texas driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, acceptable insurance, and reliable transportation.
  • Must complete and pass a criminal background check, motor vehicle records check, and drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Performs year-round grounds maintenance, including snow removal, trail clearing, road maintenance, and lawn mowing at Camp Timberlake and the Fort Worth Corporate Office.
  • Cleans and maintains buildings and equipment.
  • Maintains inventory of tools, equipment and supplies.
  • Maintains septic system and plumbing schedules.
  • Monitors site for damage caused by weather or vandalism and reports findings to the Property Lead.
  • Maintains gates and posted signs to discourage unauthorized access onto camp property.
  • Provides support to volunteers, staff, and third-party customers for camp projects.
  • Assists campers in moving into and out of units; and provides authorized equipment to ensure a successful camping experience.
  • Maintains the interior and exterior of camp buildings.
  • Opens and closes all outdoor camping units by cleaning and making repairs, turning on water systems, moving equipment, and winterizing pipes and water systems.
  • Follows GSUSA and council policies and guidelines to ensure compliance with relevant Federal, state and local laws, regulations, and codes.
  • Provide supervision to all contracted services and volunteer workers.
  • Orients groups/troops to camp property; explain how and where you can be reached and records number of users and facilities to be used.
  • Be available to provide service when troop campers, service units, third-party organizations, staff, or council program event participants are present, or provide alternate measures pre-approved by your supervisor.
  • Interacts with all camp visitors in a courteous and professional manner at all times striving to exceed their expectations of service.
  • Maintains grounds (i.e., mowing grass, controlling weeds, maintain roadways, maintaining trails, removing dead trees from living areas, etc.), equipment and facilities in accordance with the Council's Camp Property Management Plan, Federal, State and local regulations, GSUSA guidelines and ACA guidelines and as directed by supervisor.
  • Works as a team member and supports the Council in all other areas as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Property Lead.
