About The Position

The Site Leader is responsible for coordinating, organizing, and monitoring children's activities in the day-to-day operation of the VIK club for students K through 6th grade at the school site. The position involves collaborating with colleagues, parents, and school staff to design and support a quality program that meets the needs of the school families. The Site Leader nurtures an environment of teamwork and enthusiasm, participates in school site staff meetings and functions, and provides program information to school site staff and parents. They develop and maintain positive relationships with children, staff, and families, and work with the Enrichment Activity Specialist to facilitate activity planning meetings and special events. The role includes providing individual, small group, and large group activities that encourage choices and social development, as well as opportunities for experimental education, academic enrichment, and recreational activities. The Site Leader is responsible for training, supervising, and evaluating site team members, ensuring compliance with program policies and procedures, and maintaining documentation required by DHS.

Requirements

  • 2+ years' experience with school age children in a licensed group setting.
  • Coursework in child development, recreation, PE or closely related field.
  • Must have a Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Must have negative TB Test documentation provided by a clinic or doctor.
  • Must meet Arizona Department of Health Services (DHS) Child Day Care Center Teacher-Caregiver requirements.
  • CPR/First Aid Recertification every two years.
  • Completes a minimum of eighteen (18) verifiable hours of approved training each year.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and schedules children's daily activity choices and assigns the work of team members.
  • Trains, supervises, and evaluates site team members.
  • Ensures compliance with all program policies and procedures.
  • Keeps the site fully staffed by finding and placing substitutes.
  • Implements district and school site policies.
  • Prepares and maintains all documentation required by DHS.
  • Orders and purchases equipment and supplies necessary for planned activities.

  • Hourly Rate: $17.93
  • Position Length: 9 Months
  • Work Hours: 6 hours per day
