The position involves oversight of critical spaces within a data center, focusing on capacity management, monitoring power and cooling requirements, and responding to critical events and incidents. The role requires collaboration with external groups to support and resolve issues impacting data center operations, as well as partnering with colocation suppliers and vendors to ensure 100% uptime and availability. The individual will complete small projects independently and work with their manager on planning and executing larger local projects. Responsibilities also include managing security and access controls for the site, handling procurement and inventory of data center equipment, and working collaboratively with partner and cross-functional teams. The role demands providing technical guidance to vendors, overseeing hardware installation and decommissioning workflows, and performing rack and stack operations for data center equipment. Daily tasks will be managed through internal tooling systems such as JIRA and Confluence, with a strong emphasis on documentation and compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs). Participation in training aligned with corporate objectives is also expected to bridge skill gaps and learn new relevant technologies. The candidate will work independently, evaluating incoming work and taking appropriate actions to resolve issues while knowing when to escalate matters appropriately.
