The Chemours Titanium Technology facility located in New Johnsonville, Tennessee has openings for a Site Inspector. This position will report to the Site Reliability Manager. The Site Inspector will support process equipment inspection programs to ensure they align with corporate standards and best practices related to Mechanical Integrity and Quality Assurance (MIQA) requirements. The Inspector will be a member of the site welding team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience with a background in inspection/examination of Industrial plant process equipment.
  • Knowledge of applicable RAGAGEPs including ASME, API, ASTM.
  • Knowledge of NDE techniques (VT, UT, PT, MT, RT).
  • Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM).
  • Working knowledge of inspection and equipment management software similar to SAP/PM, Ultrapipe®, PCMS.
  • Knowledge and ability to read and interpret construction drawings, process & instrumentation diagrams, as well as fabrication prints.
  • Working knowledge of standard Microsoft Office software.
  • Strong Written and Oral Communication.
  • Strong Interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as a team member in a respectful manner in a diverse work environment.
  • Ability to apply applicable codes to equipment on site (new construction, repair and alteration).
  • Ability to work with custodians, repair organizations to develop and execute repair plans for equipment and pipe.
  • Must be able to wear a full-face respirator and work in permitted confined spaces.
  • Must be willing and able to perform tasks that require climbing, crawling, and bending.
  • Must be willing and able to travel and work overtime when needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Certified Welding Inspector.
  • Certification in API 570. Certification can be obtained after obtaining job within a year.
  • Other API certifications that can be obtained include 510 and 653 codes.
  • ASNT certifications in VT, UT, PT, MT, RT (film).
  • Knowledge base in advanced NDE technologies including guided wave testing, Phased Array ultrasonic testing, time of flight diffraction (TOFD), remote field eddy current testing (RFEC), magnetic flux leakage (MFL), digital radiography.

Responsibilities

  • Perform API pressure vessel, piping, and tank inspections.
  • Document and transmit inspection results
  • Make recommendations as appropriate for repair/upgrade/retirement of equipment.
  • Define and approve repairs to fixed equipment per the applicable ASME/API standards and Best Practices (RAGAGEPs)
  • Audit and evaluate on/off site contract repair organizations
  • Develop inspection and test plans for plant equipment per applicable ASNT, ASME/API Standards and Best Practices (RAGAGEPs).
  • Manage inspection data in systems such as Ultrapipe®, PCMS and SAP/PM.
  • Maintain inspection and repair documentation, potentially including NDE procedures, welding procedures and inspection plans.
  • Provide technical support to NDT examiners including the auditing and evaluation of their work.
  • Support site welding program.
  • Participate in corporate inspection and welding networks as needed.
