About The Position

Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer for Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C., is hiring a Site Innovation Engineer. The Site Innovation Engineer is the lead project consultant as it relates to Site Based Operations. The individual in this role conducts in-depth evaluations of customer productivity projects to develop KPI's and trackable metrics based on the customer's objectives. The Site Innovation Engineer will be responsible for developing and monitoring deployed production solutions like MineStar, CAT Productivity, VantagePoint, and similar applications; will be the lead project owners for CAT Command Remote Control and Command Autonomous operations technology; be able to leverage CPS (CAT Payload Systems) to develop KPI's and educate customers on opportunities to improve operations.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of customer-facing technology products, including Caterpillar, Trimble, and other technical software products.
  • Fundamental understanding of industry applications, specifically Quarry & Aggregates, Large Earth Moving, Waste Handling, Construction, and Mining.
  • Industry knowledge in Machine Control and Guidance and various Site Applications.
  • Ability to work with sales teams to lead site productivity surveys.
  • Ability to leverage production data for customer value recognition.
  • Expert knowledge of Command Technologies including RC and Autonomy.
  • Excellent customer satisfaction skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Strong computer and internet skills with high technology aptitude.
  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of Data and Analytics.
  • Ability to quickly learn technology products.
  • Good listening skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Innovative and creative with good judgment in decision-making.
  • Ability to handle large volumes of work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience evaluating digital construction technology projects.
  • Previous experience with Quarry/Aggregate, Waste, and Civil Construction applications.
  • Mining Engineering degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth evaluations of customer productivity projects.
  • Develop KPI's and trackable metrics based on customer objectives.
  • Develop and monitor deployed production solutions like MineStar, CAT Productivity, VantagePoint.
  • Lead project ownership for CAT Command Remote Control and Command Autonomous operations technology.
  • Leverage CPS (CAT Payload Systems) to develop KPI's.
  • Educate customers on opportunities to improve operations.
  • Work with sales teams to lead site productivity surveys, VST Pro studies, and FPC studies.
  • Leverage production data to help customers recognize greater value from their CAT Equipment.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to enable Site Network needs.
  • Drive awareness around machine electrification and site-based power needs.
