About The Position

The Site Industrial Quality Manager at Alstom is responsible for leading the Zero Defect Program within Industrial Quality activities at the West Mifflin site. This role involves managing the industrial quality team, ensuring the implementation of quality standards, and collaborating with various teams to enhance quality performance and processes. The position emphasizes a proactive approach to quality management, including the authority to halt production for safety and quality reasons.

Requirements

  • Degree in electromechanical, electrical, material, mechanical engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience or understanding of managing Quality tools and industrial processes.
  • Knowledge of Quality standards such as ISO9001, IRIS, CMMI, and Quality tools.
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma and other problem-solving methodologies.
  • Certification in quality management or proven track record in effective communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using digital tools to enhance controls and processes.
  • Experience in conducting Process FMEA and implementing Quality Control Plans.
  • Capacity to make decisive actions in production, including the authority to stop production for mandatory reasons.

Responsibilities

  • Define and deploy the Zero Defect Program within Industrial Quality activities.
  • Ensure regular updates of Process FMEA, Adapted Control Plan & Quality Control Plan to meet Zero Defect objectives.
  • Manage site IQ activities including budget, people, process, and performance.
  • Drive the digitalization of controls and processes using innovative solutions.
  • Perform site-level analysis to improve Industrial Quality Performance.
  • Stop production when necessary for mandatory reasons, such as safety impacts requiring rework.
  • Escalate main anomalies detected on production lines and ensure effective treatment using problem-solving tools.
  • Lead the deployment of quality animation methodology in line with the Continuous Improvement system.
  • Manage and develop the industrial quality team through the Quality Academy process and training plans.
