THE ROLE The Site Experience - Rigger is responsible for ensuring the success of event productions by ensuring that loads are moved safely by assessing and selecting the appropriate rigging gear, clear and concise communication verbally and/or using hand signals with operators and crew members in the air and on the ground, and familiarity with various types of heavy machinery.

Requirements

  • 3+ years minimum in festival, concert, or tour experience as a rigger
  • Must possess valid and current driver’s license
  • Must be up to date and willing to comply with all CCO safety standards
  • Must have current Fall Protection Certification
  • Must have current heavy equipment certifications (forklift, telehandler, aerial equipment)
  • Must bring appropriate tools and PPE
  • Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated and manual rigging systems
  • Solid working knowledge of all rigging equipment
  • Physically capable of working in various weather conditions
  • Comfortable climbing and working at heights for extended periods of time
  • Ability to consistently walk, stand, lift for extended periods, 10-14 hour days
  • Understanding of basic hand signaling
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 50lbs
  • OSHA 10 required
  • Must be willing to travel to work during holidays, evening and weekend hours, as required, to meet deadlines
  • Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels and drastic temperature climates while working on site at various event location
  • Applicants for employment in the U.S. must possess work authorization, which does not require sponsorship by Insomniac for a visa.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that all rigging is being done safely and in accordance with CCO guidelines
  • Inspecting and preparing loads that need to be moved
  • Preparing rigging equipment including, spansets, gac, chain hoists etc
  • Inspecting rigging before final use
  • Identify potential hazards (weather, deteriorated conditions, competency)
  • Monitoring and maintaining rigging equipment
  • Maneuvering loads using heavy equipment machinery
  • Communicate with all team members effectively
  • You will report to Project Managers, Production Manager and Head of the Department.
