About The Position

The Site EHS Manager at Amazon is responsible for overseeing workplace health and safety (WHS) initiatives at the site level. This role involves coordinating and implementing the Amazon Global Program, ensuring compliance with local, regional, and federal regulations, and leading continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety and health in the workplace. The manager will also develop and lead a team of WHS professionals, fostering a culture of safety and compliance within the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• 5+ years of increasing responsibilities in EHS and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations
• 5+ years of increasing responsibilities in people and performance management
• Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.

Nice To Haves

• Distribution Center or Manufacturing EHS experience with a mix of exempt and non-exempt employees at a site of at least 250 people
• Master's degree
• Certified Safety Professional
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance with all applicable Amazon WHS Policies.
• Lead initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in processes to ensure a safe working environment.
• Establish high-quality relationships with site and regional leadership.
• Measure site's performance against published requirements in EHS policies and drive accountability for identified deficiencies.
• Analyze WHS metrics and review incident trends to allocate resources effectively.
• Perform frequent site WHS audits to identify non-compliance and implement solutions to eliminate risks.
• Audit recordkeeping practices and WHS Information System entries for compliance.
• Ensure site leadership and Associates are trained on their responsibilities under each policy.
