About The Position

The Site Director at HCS Head Start, Inc. is responsible for overseeing and managing the physical facilities, staff supervision, community engagement, and compliance with local and federal laws governing child care. This role emphasizes a strong commitment to quality early education programs and requires experience with culturally diverse and at-risk families. The position also involves ensuring that developmentally appropriate activities are implemented in the classroom and that staff receive the necessary training and support.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Early Childhood Education, or related field.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Department of Early Education and Care (DEEC) Director II certification.
• Four years of experience in supervision or an administrative position preferred.
• Minimum of two years working in an infant & toddler program and/or preschool program setting required.
• Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
• Proficient in word processing and database skills.
• Clear and effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships at the center and community level.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage physical facilities and staff supervision.
• Ensure compliance with local and federal laws governing child care.
• Engage with the community to enhance educational programming.
• Guide specific training for staff to implement safe and developmentally appropriate activities.
• Assist teaching staff in involving the community in classroom activities.
• Work with the Operations Manager on educational aspects such as assessments and family engagement.
• Act as a mandated reporter as per Massachusetts General Laws.
