About The Position

The Extended School Year (ESY) offers specialized instruction and related services to students beyond the regular school year. The Site Coordinator for the Extended School Year (ESY) program will lead and coordinate programming, supervise small-group literacy and math classes, manage IEP implementation, and oversee behavioral concerns. Responsibilities also include staff supervision, monitoring progress, handling parent communication, and collaborating with district administrators.

Requirements

  • Experience working with special education students across elementary and/or secondary levels.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and support team initiatives.
  • Skilled in reading IEPs and delivering services in accordance with student needs.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with students, staff, and parents.
  • Familiarity with best practices in special education instruction.
  • A firm belief that all children can learn and succeed.
  • Effective classroom management and student engagement strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate program activities, ensuring alignment with student needs and goals.
  • Supervise small-group literacy and math instruction, ensuring high-quality delivery.
  • Oversee sub-separate programming to meet individual student needs as outlined in IEPs.
  • Ensure the implementation of IEP goals and accommodations across the program.
  • Manage communication with parents and address any concerns effectively.
  • Supervise and address behavioral concerns, maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Monitor staff attendance, coordinate coverage, and ensure adequate staffing.
  • Oversee timesheet management to ensure accuracy and timely submission.
  • Supervise progress monitoring, ensuring consistent and accurate reporting.
  • Collaborate with district administrators to support program development and alignment with district standards.
