About The Position

The Site Civil Project Engineer provides technical leadership for civil engineering projects from planning through design and implementation. This role leads study and/or design phases across civil, environmental, construction, and industrial projects with a primary focus on Site Civil development. The position manages assigned project staff and project deliverables, collaborates with internal teams, and interacts as needed with clients and public agencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • FE required; PE preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Civil Engineering experience, required.
  • Ability to lead advanced design projects from concept through completion as the primary designer on Site Civil projects.
  • Working knowledge of state and local regulatory requirements, with the ability to proactively apply them.
  • Experience assigning and overseeing work for Co‑Ops, Graduate, and Associate Civil Engineers.
  • Advanced knowledge of Civil Engineering principles, practices, and construction methods.
  • Proficiency with CAD and other engineering design and analysis software used for Site Civil engineering.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to think both analytically and creatively.
  • Highly detail‑oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.
  • Must be able to travel to various project sites.

  • Public speaking and presentation skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering guidance to project stakeholders and management on design, construction requirements, and modifications for Site Civil projects.
  • Develop and communicate designs using engineering software and drafting tools; design site and project‑specific improvements, including detention systems.
  • Establish design criteria and specifications through engineering analysis (e.g., hydraulics, traffic demand, earthwork).
  • Plan and execute projects using drawings, surveys, maps, aerials, and geotechnical/topographical data.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, including detention and engineering due diligence reports.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for materials, equipment, and labor for Site Civil construction.
  • Coordinate with architects, contractors, engineers, and surveyors to ensure accurate layouts, grades, elevations, and project execution.
  • Monitor project progress to ensure compliance with design standards, specifications, and QA/QC requirements.
  • Independently manage assigned projects with minimal oversight after initial direction.
  • Review, QA/QC, and stamp projects as appropriate.
  • Mentor, train, and develop assigned staff; share company methodologies and best practices.
  • Participate in professional meetings, associations, and networking activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
