Austin Industrial is currently seeking a SIPA Helper to join our staff . They must be able to work in the construction, assembly, maintenance, and dismantling of tubular scaffolding or other temporary structures.

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a SIPA Helper (Scaffold, Insulation, Painter, Assembly) in construction or refinery work.
  • Basic understanding of hand and power tools
  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work at heights
  • Knowledge of OSHA and site-specific safety standards
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid NCCER
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Valid TWIC card
  • Meet physical demands as listed above
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed by the assigned location
  • Ability to operate power tools and heavy equipment

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the erection, modification, and dismantling of scaffolding systems.
  • Carry and position scaffold components (tubes, planks, braces, etc.).
  • Maintain safe work areas and tools.
  • Help cut, fit, and install insulation materials on piping, ducts, or equipment.
  • Apply jacketing (metal or PVC covers) over insulation.
  • Handle insulation materials (fiberglass, calcium silicate, mineral wool).
  • Prepare surfaces (sanding, scraping, cleaning) for coating or painting.
  • Apply primer and paint under supervision using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
  • Assist in maintaining painting tools and equipment.
  • Assist mechanics or technicians with basic mechanical assembly or disassembly tasks.
  • Use basic hand tools (wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers, etc.).
  • Transport and organize parts or tools as needed.
