About The Position

As a Sinico Tapper Operator at Zekelman Industries (Picoma division), you will play a key role in supporting manufacturing operations by setting up and operating threading machines to produce high-quality couplings that meet precise specifications. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced production environment, has strong mechanical aptitude, and takes pride in maintaining quality and efficiency across multiple machines.

Requirements

Machine operating experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
High school diploma or equivalent experience
Technical Skills – Experience with hand tools, measurement tools (plug gages), and machine operation
Soft Skills – Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, teamwork, and communication skills
Additional Qualifications – Ability to operate forklift and crane equipment; willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Ability to lift, push, and maneuver materials, including pushing carts up to 150 lbs
Ability to stand, bend, twist, pull, and reach throughout shift
Ability to operate machinery, hand tools, and material handling equipment safely
Ability to reach above shoulder level and perform repetitive motions

Responsibilities

Set up threading machines according to production schedules and specifications to ensure accurate output.
Operate and monitor 4–6 machines simultaneously to maintain consistent production flow.
Inspect couplings using plug gages and visual inspection to ensure quality and specification compliance.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor repairs and adjustments using hand tools.
Replace cutting and threading tools to maintain machine performance and product quality.
Move materials using forklift and/or hand-operated crane to support machine loading.
Maintain proper lubricant levels through visual inspection and site gages to ensure equipment functionality.
Remove machine cuttings and transport to chip hopper to maintain a clean work area.
Complete production reporting accurately to support operational tracking and performance metrics.
