About The Position

River Valley Holdings is a family-owned distribution company based in Syracuse, NY, serving retail customers across the northeastern United States. The River Valley family of companies: River Valley Foods, Cavallaro Foods and Empire Valley, distributes a wide range of specialty dry and frozen grocery items and consumable products out of warehouses in Syracuse, NY.  The Health & Wellness Warehouse Associate is responsible for flexibly performing a variety of warehouse roles including receiving, put-away, replenishment, selecting and other warehouse tasks to meet our customers’ needs. The H&W Warehouse Associate reports to the Health &Wellness Warehouse Manager.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and understand English to understand customer orders and supervisor instructions
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Able to operate the RF guns accurately
  • Ability to accurately put away and replenish freight utilizing upright forklift
  • Ability to learn/perform receiving function accurately
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year of Forklift operating experience

Responsibilities

  • Arrive on-time for the start of the scheduled shift and attend the daily start-up meeting
  • Perform a pre-operation inspection of any equipment being used during the day
  • Accurately receive and put away freight to its assigned locations in the warehouse
  • Wrap pallets as needed to ensure stability through the warehouse and examine the pallet ensuring it can be stored safely in overhead locations 
  • Complete advanced and required let-downs as needed throughout the day
  • Select and package customer orders in an accurate and efficient manner while meeting the required selection rate
  • Perform general warehouse tasks including constructing boxes, emptying cardboard bins and bales and general cleaning, and organizing in the warehouse
  • Follow company and SQF procedures when handling products, including the handling of damaged cases discovered in the warehouse
  • Always operate all equipment in a safe manner
  • Complete work with a positive attitude that emphasizes exceptional customer service
