About The Position
The position represents the SMP at various conferences, seminars, workshops, and meetings attended by diverse personnel as directed by the SMP Coordinator. The role involves assisting with the preparation and conducting of briefings and orientations concerning the various aspects of the SMP for commands, visitors, newly arrived single and unaccompanied service members, base organizations, and local community entities. The program addresses Quality of Life recommendations for single and unaccompanied service members, including community service, health and wellness, life skills, career progression, and recreation activities. Responsibilities include planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the Hampton Roads (HR) region-wide SMP, coordinating special events, and ensuring effective use of facilities and resources. The position also involves coordinating programs with other MCCS departments and outside sources, maintaining communication with single and unaccompanied service members, and assisting in the preparation of annual operating budgets.
