About The Position
Under the direction of the Diocesan and Cathedral Director of Liturgical Music is responsible for singing in the Schola for some Sunday services and diocesan liturgical celebrations. A schola member shall be a minister of the Gospel and Catholic teaching both academically and behaviorally while at work and in personal life. “…Live in a manner worthy of the call you have received.” (Eph. 4:1)
Requirements
- Exercise courtesy to fellow employees, parishioners and the general public
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment; punctuality is a must at all times.
- Professional bearing; clean and neat personal appearance
- Ability to successfully pass a background and criminal history check.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in vocal music.

Responsibilities
- Perform as a lay minister in support of the parish’s spiritual and pastoral mission.
- Shall abide by Catholic principles in the singer’s professional and private life, and shall govern his/her professional and private life in strict accordance with Catholic morals and principles to demonstrate complete adherence to Catholic moral strictures
- Perform as a singer for the assigned musical events.
- Maintain Church protocol including maintaining an environment of respect and solemnity at all liturgical celebrations
- Maintain open communications with volunteer musicians
- Perform other duties as assigned.
