About The Position

This is a contingent position with Honda R&D. The term of the contract is open (no scheduled end date). In this role, you will be providing Japanese/English simultaneous interpretation support as it relates to global passenger vehicle R&D.

Requirements

4-year Bachelor's degree
Minimum 5 years experience in simultaneous Japanese/English translation in a business environment

Responsibilities

Provide accurate simultaneous interpretation (equipment provided) within a technical environment
Able and willing to provide interpretation for meetings at any hour required (given time difference between Japan and Ohio USA)
Must be able to work independently as an interpreter as you will be managing interpretations alone for video conferences during morning or evenings
Timely and accurate translation of written documents
Smooth, clear communication skills in both English and Japanese
Must be able to work well within a team. At times, you will be working with other interpreters to support business requirements.
Given you'll be supporting global business needs, you must be able and willing to manage international travel and around the clock business needs as required.
