About The Position

Assembles machined and bought parts. Install flight simulator individual assemblies such as control linkages, throttle alignment, consoles, cabinets, fuselage components, electric, hydraulic motion system actuators. Assisting in the preparation of assigned bays for trainer arrivals by laying out and drilling a motion pad, installing adapter plates and assemble computer flooring to receive computer cabinets if . Assisting with the offload of trainers, assemblies and associated equipment assist in house installs , hardware software integration and teardown, pack, ship, and site installation. Support trainer modification and upgrades in-house and at customer sites. Support relocation of commercial or military training devices domestic or overseas.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree.
  • Airframe’s portion of the FAA A&P license preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 + years’ experience in aircraft structural repair or flight simulator assembly.
  • Must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations with other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to figure percentages, area, circumference, and volume and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must have a good knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical hand tools and be able to effectively use them (Hammers, wrenches, screw drivers, pliers, precision measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers and scales, pneumatic and electric drills, rivet guns, fastening tools such as clamps and clecos shop equipment such as drill presses, brakes, and shears etc.).
  • Must have a sound understanding of military and commercial workmanship standards.
  • Must be willing and able to assume work assignments away from the facility for extended periods, for site installations and be willing to work rotating shifts.
  • Must be able to work from parts lists, assembly drawings, schematics, and engineering orders, engineering change orders, engineering logs, CAE workmanship standards and CAE manufacturing procedures / work instructions.
  • Must have basic computer skills for time reporting and work order processing.
  • Must be able to perform work assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures.
  • Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form.
  • Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know.
  • Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval.
  • All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.
  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
  • Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.
  • Must possess manual dexterity and excellent hand eye coordination.
  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods .
  • Use hands to finger, handle, or feel over 2/3 of the time.
  • Reach with hands and arms over 2/3 of the time.
  • Climb or balance on an approved safety ladder.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for long periods .
  • Talk or hear 1/3 to 2/3 of the time.
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds.
  • Close vision ( clear vision at 20 inches or less, Jaeger 1 of .50mm letters @ 14” or better).
  • Distance vision ( clear vision at 20 feet or more, Snellen chart 20/50 or better).
  • Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors).
  • Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).
  • Must be willing to work overtime.
  • Moderate to high levels of stress, associated with technical, schedule, and customer issues are to be expected .
  • Extended work hours and possible 2 nd and 3 rd shift assignments are likely to be encountered .

Responsibilities

  • Read work orders, follow production, and sample assemblies, diagrams, parts lists and receive verbal instructions regarding duties.
  • Measure parts to determine specified tolerance.
  • Ability to read precision measuring equipment.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints to fabricate complex assemblies.
  • Fabricates parts from raw materials.
  • Drills, taps, reams, countersinks, and spot faces bolt holes in parts.
  • Position and aligns parts.
  • Bolts, screws, and rivets parts together to close tolerances.
  • Disassembles and replaces parts as .
  • Cleans and lubricates parts and assemblies.
  • Marks identifying information on parts.
  • Inventory assign toolbox and sign inventory sheet.
  • Assist in tool room inventory.
  • Assist in simulator teardown and packing of simulator components for shipment.
