RESPONSIBILITIES Essential Functions Simulator Technical Support: Daily inspections of Rocket Center equipment to maintain effective and efficient operation, safety, and appearance. Equipment includes but is not limited to: Technical Hydraulic Electro-mechanical Pneumatic Audio / Visual Computer Peripherals Robotics Repair/Modification of Computer Hardware, Software and Networking. Ensure the accurate and timely completion of Rocket Center leadership requests. Completion of documentation related to job activities. Simulation Design: Systematically develop, design, fabricate, inspect, install, and repair Rocket Center equipment and simulators to maintain effective and efficient operation, safety, and appearance. Equipment includes but is not limited to: Technical Hydraulic Electro-mechanical Pneumatic Audio / Visual Computer Peripherals Robotics Supervisory Responsibilities : None Travel Required : Some QUALIFICATIONS Required Education High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a 2-year technical degree in electronics (Industrial Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or similar degree). Software programming languages and other job-related technical/mechanical experience will be considered. Required Experience Leadership experience in troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electronic and Electro-mechanical devices. Must have the ability to use the tools, equipment, and materials of this job profession effectively and safely. Experience troubleshooting, and inspecting equipment Experience with Windows operating systems Experience with computer hardware assembly, software programming, computer networking, 3d modeling software, machining, and robotics. OTHER REQUIREMENTS Physical Requirements Walking and climbing (stairs, ladders) to access work-related areas. Pushing, carrying, and lifting equipment weighing up to 50 pounds to waist height. Bending, kneeling, and reaching to maintain and repair simulators and exhibits. Sight, reading, wrist movements, feeling to inspect, maintain, and repair simulators and exhibits, to operate tools of the trade. Talking, and hearing to communicate with employees, guests, and contractors regarding simulators and exhibits. Driving skills to operate equipment such as forklifts, man lifts, and carts. Comfortable working at heights of up to 50 feet. Eligibility Qualifications Must be authorized to work in the United States. Must possess a valid driver's license WORK ENVIRONMENT Environmental Factors This position involves working indoors in a climate-controlled building environment, as well as working in the elements of the outdoors. Work areas are subject to dust, noise, and hazards related to the profession.
