About The Position

The Simulation Technician role at OT Training Solutions involves applying extensive knowledge and experience to troubleshoot and maintain complex electronic and electro-mechanical systems used in training simulations. The technician will be responsible for ensuring the operational readiness of simulators, performing maintenance, and providing technical guidance to lower-level technicians. This position is contingent upon contract award and requires a strong background in electronic technology and system maintenance.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizen.
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience in electronic technology or related discipline, or a combination of education and experience.
  • System level maintenance experience demonstrating general knowledge in visual, computer, display, and/or hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
  • Proficiency with troubleshooting equipment such as multi-meter or voltage detector.
  • Three years of increasingly complex and progressive experience in computer systems/networking or training device maintenance.
  • Knowledgeable in TS-MATS, TADSS, and Microsoft Office.
  • Computer networking experience.
  • Good written composition and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work as a team or individually.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Associate's Degree in Electronic Technology (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in all aspects of 81mm or 60mm Mortar Systems to conduct instruction and operation of a simulated mortar system.
  • Military experience as a former Mortar Platoon Leader, Special Forces Officer, or Infantry Mortar Leader Course Qualified.

Responsibilities

  • Perform power up, orderly initialization, operation, and shutdown of simulators.
  • Conduct pre-operational readiness checks before scheduled training periods.
  • Conduct post-operational checks at the completion of the training day.
  • Complete both preventative and corrective maintenance on all training device systems and subsystems.
  • Complete approved device and system engineering upgrades in accordance with provided technical documentation and procedures.
  • Maintain, repair, adjust, align, and/or install various types of electronic and electro-mechanical equipment and related devices.
  • Apply technical knowledge of electronic principles to determine equipment malfunctions and restore equipment operations.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with the inter-relationships of circuits and plan work sequences accordingly.
  • Use various test equipment such as digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
  • Comply with instructions and processes identified in the program Maintenance, Quality Control, and Safety Plans.
  • Accurately maintain component and parts levels in storeroom and associated database.
  • Keep the training area clean and free of clutter.
  • Perform related collateral duties as required.
  • Receive technical guidance from supervisor or higher-level technician.
  • May provide technical guidance to lower-level technicians.
