Position Purpose: The Simulation Systems Technician II (Shift) provides technical support and maintenance for the C-5 Training System (TS) during assigned shits to ensure continuous device availability across extended training hours.
Perform all duties of the Simulation Systems Technician II role during assigned shifts.
Provide rapid response to training-impacting discrepancies occurring during live events.
Coordinate with other shift personnel to ensure continuity of maintenance activities and documentation.
Support shift turnover by clearly documenting open issues, parts status, and device configuration.
Provide readiness checks, power-up and shut-down procedures, and basic diagnostics for training devices.
Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on ATS and MTS devices, including hardware and software troubleshooting.
Troubleshoot and correct issues involving computers, networks, I/O, and simulation subsystems
Document discrepancies, maintenance actions, and parts usage in the approved maintenance tracking system
Support demonstrations, investigations, tours, and other special events as required
At some locations, serve as Site ISSO to support ACAS scans and cybersecurity updates in accordance with program guidance
Other duties as assigned.
Typically, 3-5 years of experience maintaining simulators, avionics, or electronic/ electro-mechanical systems.
Ability to work within a shift-based maintenance or operations environment.
Willingness and ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, or rotating shifts as required by the training schedule.
Ability to read and interpret technical orders, schematics and engineering documentation.
Vocational, military, or associate-level training in electronics, avionics, information systems, or related field preferred.
Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance, if required.
