Wing offers drone delivery as a safe, fast, and sustainable solution for last mile logistics. Consumer appetites for on-demand services are increasing, but current delivery methods are inefficient, costly, and contribute to road accidents and air pollution. Wing's fleet of highly automated delivery drones can transport small packages directly from businesses to homes on-demand, in minutes. We design, build, and operate our aircraft, and offer drone delivery services on three continents. Our technology is designed to be easy to integrate into existing delivery and logistics networks, offering a scalable drone delivery solution for a broad range of businesses. Wing is a part of Google's parent company, Alphabet, and our mission is to create the preferred means of delivery for the planet. If you're ready to do the greatest work of your life, come join us. Wing is looking for an engineering intern to join our Simulation team based in Palo Alto, CA. Our team develops tools that enable engineers to develop, test and deploy features efficiently and at scale. Our work spans vehicle physics and sensor modeling, large-scale simulation frameworks, test infrastructure for backend verification, and integrated avionics and system testing. Our team is dedicated to ensuring simulation is the fastest and most reliable way to test changes to our system and introduce new features.

  • Help track towards the vision of having simulation be indistinguishable from real flights by closing the gap between simulation models and real data.
  • Analyze real-world data and come up with new ideas for how to integrate it directly into simulation models.
  • Prototype concepts for continuously improving model fidelity from ongoing production flights.
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Vision, Robotics, Electrical Engineering or related field, graduating between December 2025 and August 2026.
  • Strong examples of previous engineering experience from past internships and/or academic or extracurricular projects.
  • Strong grasp of basic physics and engineering fundamentals in at least one domain (e.g. mechanics, dynamics, electrical, vision, etc.).
  • Experience with C++ and/or Python.
  • Experience with using some numerical or statistics library and environment (e.g. numpy, scipy, pandas, Matlab, R, etc.) to analyze real-world data.
  • Paid internship
  • Gain experience with leveraging large amounts of real-world data to improve large-scale simulation tools.
  • Make a measurable impact on Wing's ability to scale operations more rapidly.
  • Be a part of a dynamic and collaborative team.
