The position focuses on enhancing patient outcomes through the development of medical simulation technologies. The role combines various disciplines such as industrial design, special effects, additive manufacturing, engineering, and robotics to create advanced medical and surgical simulators. The individual will also be responsible for developing curricula and promoting the use of enhanced medical visualization models for training purposes.

  • Increase the quality of patient outcomes through medical simulation.
  • Combine industrial design, special effects, additive manufacturing/3D printing, engineering, and robotics to produce medical and surgical simulators.
  • Develop curriculum and share the benefits of enhanced medical visualization models/platforms for medical/surgical training.
  • Utilize 3D scanning, 3D printing, physical and digital modeling, life casting, hydrogels, silicones, and other anatomic substitutes to produce simulators.
  • Liaison with surgical skills center and medical simulation center to profile needed task trainers and surgical simulators.
  • Assist in the development of platforms using 3D assets for extended reality including AR/VR/MR and high fidelity simulations models.
  • Master's degree in Entertainment Technology, Special Effects, Biomedical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or closely related field with 5 years of related work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree with 7 years of related work experience.
  • Effective communication skills, both orally and written.
  • Ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies.
  • Project management experience preferred.
