As a Simulation Education Specialist, you will provide expertise in simulation educational design and implementation of simulation activities using a variety of simulation modalities and ensuring best practices. Your main focus will be on American Heart Association Resuscitation, Mock code program and RQI (Resuscitation Quality improvement), working with interpersonal teams. You will collaborate on simulation projects across disciplines, evaluate simulation activities and provide formal and informal feedback, ensuring quality simulation programming. Your hard work and dedication will impact caregiver knowledge and their ability to care for patients and families. This role offers the opportunity for advancement and professional development, including conference attendance, as well as internal growth opportunities across Florida sites and Ohio. The role also offers broader exposure to global networks and the ability to make a meaningful impact through process improvement initiatives. Additionally, it provides the opportunity to be involved with the Florida team in preparation for accreditation. A caregiver in this position works days from 7:30AM – 4:00PM.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field with significant experience in healthcare simulation education and/or clinical field
  • Six years of experience in planning, developing, implementing, evaluating and/or customizing simulation education OR a Master’s Degree in education or a healthcare field and four years of experience
  • Knowledge of educational theory, instructional technology and simulation services and technologies
  • Computer literacy in PC-based software applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Instructor Status through the American Heart Association (AHA) within two years of hire if working in Resuscitation SIM Department
  • Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator through the Society for Simulation in Healthcare within two years of hire
  • Outstanding communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Experience creating and maintaining a project plan from inception through completion
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing, Education, Psychology, Public Health or other related health care or educational science field
  • Clinical experience

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement evidence‑based simulation curricula that integrate instructional design principles, needs‑assessment findings and appropriate modalities and fidelity to optimize learner engagement.
  • Mentor new simulation faculty, fellows, facilitators and trainees by providing guided support in curriculum development, delivering formal and informal feedback, serving as faculty for educator training and workshops and supporting simulation fellowship programs.
  • Review and apply evaluative data using validated assessment tools to adjust and improve simulation activities while ensuring alignment with accreditation requirements.
  • Contribute to the advancement and dissemination of simulation education through research, peer‑reviewed publications and presentations, workshops and faculty development programs at local, national and global levels.
  • Advance simulation concepts and methods by creating innovative applications of new knowledge and translating ideas from other fields into relevant simulation‑based practices.
  • Demonstrate ability to engage and collaborate across disciplines to design and implement interprofessional simulation courses.
  • Support organizational excellence by maintaining accreditation requirements, developing and revising SASC policies and procedures and promoting a culture of evidence‑based innovation and change.
  • Participate in strategic planning to sustain and grow simulation programs across disciplines and across the organization.
  • Manage multiple medium‑ to large‑scale projects, complete CME credentialing applications and respond to just‑in-time or urgent learning needs.
  • Represent the Simulation Center through active participation on local committees, global simulation workgroups and professional simulation organizations.
