The Silviculture Forester is a full-time position within the North Louisiana/Arkansas Region of Southern Timberlands, responsible for planning and managing activities to support sustainable management of the Winnfield Area Tree Farm. This role combines office and field work, focusing on the implementation of silvicultural practices and collaboration with team members to achieve regional goals.

  • Implement silviculture practices from stand establishment through mid-rotation.
  • Conduct field reconnaissance and verification.
  • Administer contracts and ensure timely updates for financial accuracy.
  • Collaborate with the Silviculture Manager and Area Manager to execute the silviculture plan in compliance with regional strategies.
  • Work with other functions to ensure the success of the region.
  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • High level of integrity and accountability.
  • Proven collaborative decision-making skills.
  • Proactive safety leadership with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Operational experience in project management and contract administration.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities in team settings or individually.
  • Ability to prioritize work activities and assignments.
  • Willingness to drive in all weather and road conditions, including dirt or gravel roads.
  • Adaptability to changing conditions.
  • Computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn Weyerhaeuser Silvicultural practices.
  • Willingness to live in or around the Winnfield Area.
  • Experience in forestry or related fields.
  • Familiarity with sustainable forest management practices.
