SilverSneakers (Certified) Fitness Instructor
About The Position
Are you passionate about making fitness fun and enjoyable? We are seeking a highly motivated Silver Sneakers Fitness Instructor with a passion for helping active older adults improve their lives through health and fitness. Our Silver Sneakers Fitness Instructors are responsible for designing, implementing and leading safe, effective and enjoyable group fitness classes to recreation center participants of various fitness levels. If you are personable, friendly, dedicated and passionate about fitness and changing lives - this role is for you! The Buck Recreation Center has immediate openings for established classes on Tuesdays from 10:00-11:00am and Fridays from 9:00am-11:15am . Multiple opportunities to substitute other classes.
Requirements
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Graduation from high school or completion of GED.
- Current Group Fitness Certification from an accepted national certifying organization and must be maintained through Continuing Education Credits (CEC's) as required.
- Possession of current certifications in CPR/AED required.
- Must possess a current Group Fitness Certification and Silver Sneakers Certification.
Nice To Haves
- First Aid certification is preferred.
- Will have prior experience in instruction of specific specialty and experience working with older adults.
- Has an understanding and knowledge of exercise science, nutrition and wellness to promote fitness and educate participants.
- Ability to communicate effectively to establish and maintain working relationships with employees and the public.
- Will have knowledge of the principals and practices of fitness programming.
