About The Position
The YMCA of Orange County is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. We are actively seeking a highly engaged, motivated, and community-centered individual for a part-time Silver Sneakers Instructor in Laguna Niguel. This role is an opportunity to inspire and empower members by delivering engaging, safe, and effective group exercise classes for our Active Older Adult (AOA) community. This position will look to foster genuine connections, practice exceptional hospitality, and create a safe, positive, and enriching environment where every interaction is meaningful. The Health and Wellness Instructor will help promote healthy lifestyles and demonstrate our commitment to supporting community well-being. Location: Laguna Niguel Work Schedule: Part Time Purpose and Impact: Inspire Healthy Lifestyles: Motivate participants to achieve wellness goals and model positive habits. Maintain Safety and Standards: Uphold safety regulations and ensure proper care of equipment and facilities.
Requirements
- Minimum Age: 21+ years old.
- Up to 2 years of experience in aerobic/anaerobic and strength conditioning required.
- Related background in health and/or fitness.
- Current Silver Sneakers certification required.
- First Aid and CPR certifications required (training provided and paid for by the YMCA).
Nice To Haves
- Preferred: Two- or four-year degree in health, exercise science, recreation, or physical activity-related field.
- Coursework in human anatomy, exercise physiology, and kinesiology preferred.
- Other group exercise certifications are welcomed.
