About The Position

The Silo Sanitation/Unloader position at Interamerican Foods Corporation is a part-time role focused on the unloading and monitoring of rail car shipments of semolina. The role requires a strong understanding of food-grade manufacturing processes and the ability to work collaboratively within a team to ensure efficient operations.

Requirements

• Minimum two (2) years' experience in a food-grade manufacturing plant.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Working knowledge of purchasing and inventory principles.
• Knowledge of rail car movers and pressurized rail cars.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate and work well with others.
• Ability to work various shifts to meet business needs.
• Ability to read and operate a weigh scale.

Responsibilities

• Perform research activities to determine a list of possible vendors.
• Monitor shipment notifications of rail cars from the mill(s).
• Monitor all rail car shipments of semolina from the mill(s) delivered on company property.
• Validate all rail car identification numbers against the rail car shipment manifest.
• Validate all identification seal numbers placed on the rail cars, checking for signs of tampering and comparing them to the rail car/seal shipment manifest.
• Open rail car hatches to remove a sample of semolina with a brass sampling probe from each rail car section and deliver to the lab for testing as specified by Quality Assurance.
• Learn to operate a rail car mover (shuttle wagon) to move rail cars from the scales to the unloading area.
• Hook up pressure lines to the rail cars and pipes from the semolina extraction system and monitor for any issues until all semolina has been successfully removed.
