AMD, Inc., is hiring a Silicon Design Engineer to research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. The role involves performing definition, design, verification, and/or documentation for ASIC development, determining architecture design, logic design, and/or system simulation. The engineer will define module interfaces/formats for simulation and contribute to the development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits. Evaluation of all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use is also required. The position involves working on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Under limited supervision, the engineer will exercise judgment within defined company procedures and practices to elect methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as design techniques, tools, and principles, is essential. The engineer will apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.
