About The Position

POSITION: Signer/Interpreter - American Sign Language (ASL) - Multiple Positions LOCATION: Booth Building SALARY: $24.07 - $25.19 per hour - Assistant Educational Signer/Interpreter $33.29-$34.65 per hour - Signer/Interpreter- EIPA 4.0 $38.70 - $40.33 per hour - Signer/Interpreter- National Certification SCHEDULE: Up to 6.50 hours per day, Monday-Friday 180-day work year

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Proficient sign language skills in a variety of systems
• Passing score on EIPA prior to start date, required.
• Proficient in American Sign Language required.
• Evidence of successful ability to work with the deaf/hard of hearing
• Demonstrated ability to carry out prescribed instructional management program
• Patience and warmth in working with students
• Ability to assume role of educational assistant and role of interpreter
• Demonstrated exemplary customer service and responsiveness
• Ability to work effectively with professionals in a school setting
• Must work within designated bounds of authority and confidentiality
• Demonstrated punctuality and an excellent work attendance record
• Ability to establish and maintain professional, cooperative, working relationships
• Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with staff, students, and patrons
• Ability to follow safe work practices and procedures

Nice To Haves

• Successful experience interpreting for hearing impaired students in a school setting
• Bilingual/Biliterate English/Spanish
