Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent educational credential.
  • 1-3 years of construction-related experience preferred.
  • Must possess valid driver's license.
  • Ability to communicate in English with relative ease.
  • Must pass a Roadway Workers Protection Test.

Nice To Haves

  • Trade and/or vocational training preferred.
  • CDL and/or Hoisting License is preferred.
  • Basic electrical or electronic training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Construct, maintain, repair and inspect the signal and railroad crossing systems, in addition to signal telephone pole lines as assigned on the MBTA Commuter Rail System.
  • Work outside in all types of weather conditions year-round as assigned.
  • Respond to emergency conditions as required for the service.
  • Other duties as assigned during emergencies.
