About The Position

Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEMs globally. Our global headquarters are located in Nashua, NH and we have design, sales and manufacturing locations globally. The Signal Integrity Engineer will take part in the high-speed copper-based I/O cable assembly design team, and will be making significant engineering impact in state of the art datacenter, cloud, 5G, storage, enterprise I/O applications, with digital communication technologies and data-rates currently charted up-to 224Gbps/lane. Design, simulation, characterization, and application of high-speed electrical cable assembly Component development as well as customer support on new product introduction Share knowledge and pursue continuous improvement in methods and workflows Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams in the development of next generation high speed I/O interconnect products Providing solutions to customers across a wide range of sectors with their high-speed data transmission requirements, identifying and resolving signal Integrity issues Support Sales and Applications Engineers to develop strategies for product break-in at existing and new accounts based on signal integrity and electrical engineering expertise Support global factories for ramping up production such as advising methods and experiments of builds, measurements, establishing test limits.

Requirements

• BS in Electrical Engineering, MS is preferred
• Understanding of electro-magnetic principles for digital signal integrity
• Experience with signal integrity and electro-magnetic simulation/analysis tools such as Ansys HFSS and Designer, CST Microwave.
• Experience with signal integrity measurements and debugging with TDR, VNA, pattern generators, error detectors and similar measurement equipment.
• Hands-on experience with frequency-domain and time-domain component and circuit characterization including understanding of test and calibration methods

Nice To Haves

• Experience in component design and application of high-speed cables/connectors into communications equipment is a plus
• Experience with Matlab, ADS, and HSPICE is a plus
