MACOM sells anddistributes products globally via a sales channel comprised of a direct fieldsales force, authorized sales representatives, and leading industrydistributors. Our sales team is trained across all of our products to give ourcustomers insights into our entire portfolio. Role: Systems Engineer

  • Design systems using multiple MACOM and external vendor's components and subsystems
  • Help develop system level architectures for MACOM's next generation products.
  • Perform system level analysis, evaluate key trade-offs, develop models & simulations to validate the architecture
  • Translate high level objectives into chip level and block level requirements.
  • Helps debug issues and identify performance bottlenecks in systems internally and with customer's engineering teams.
  • An understanding of basic circuit and transmission line theory isessential, as is familiarity with and a working knowledge of concurrent timeand frequency-domain methods of analysis and characterization.
  • In addition, theknowledge and experience with use of vector network analyzers is paramount.
  • Programming familiarity is desired with languages such as Python, Matlab, and C++/C#.
  • A working knowledge of circuit simulation tools such as Agilent's ADS(or Ansys' Designer) is desired.
  • Practical experience with 3D electro-magneticfield simulators such as Ansys' HFSS is required, with expectation to create usablemodels with 3 dB bandwidths in the 70-110 GHz range.
  • Desired candidate must have a solid understanding of the scientificmethod and have adequate experience setting up experiments, and collectingmeasurement data using mainstream equipment used for characterizing high speedserial links, both electrical and optical.
  • Experience in architecting systems to meet stringent power, cost, and performance targets
  • Experience analysing and system and block level specifications.
  • Experience with system modelling using System Verilog, System C, Matlab and the like.
  • Experience debugging system issues in both internal lab and customer lab environments.
  • Working knowledge of modern system design and testing methods.
  • Working knowledge of lab equipment including oscilloscopes, VNA, BERTs, communication protocols analysers, etc.
  • BSEE or higher. Coursework emphasis should be within Signal Integrity discipline, or microwaves/RF and electromagnetics.
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Employer-sponsored 401(k) plan.
  • Paid time off.
