About The Position

The Pacific West Region is seeking summer seasonal Sign Painter Helpers to assist permanent staff with sign painting field work. This temporary position is open to the first 50 applicants and offers a pay range of $23.54 to $27.45 per hour. The role involves operating various sign-making tools and equipment, creating wood signs, plaques, and awards, and working in outdoor conditions. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and meet specific qualifications to be considered for this role.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Ability to perform the work of a Sign Painter Helper without more than normal supervision.
  • Experience operating sign-making tools and equipment.
  • Experience making wood signs and creating plaques and awards.
  • Ability to use computers and programs for sign-making equipment.
  • Experience in setting up and maintaining controlled traffic work zones.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with outdoor work in extreme temperatures or inclement weather.
  • Familiarity with safety practices in construction and sign installation.

Responsibilities

  • Operate different types of sign-making tools and equipment including routers, power saws, sanders, computer-controlled cutters, and laser engravers.
  • Create wood signs from rough lumber, including painting letters and staining.
  • Produce various types of plaques and awards using wood, aluminum, brass, and other materials.
  • Use computers and software to operate sign-making equipment for cutting, layout, and sign creation.
  • Make signs based on work orders and blueprints.
  • Set up and maintain controlled traffic work zones and act as a flagger during roadway projects.
