Requirements

  • MUST HAVE 1 YEAR OF PREVIOUS SIGN MAKING EXPERIENCE WITH SPECIFIC MACHINERY!
  • MUST BE ABLE TO LIFT 50 LBS OR MORE.
  • MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ON A LADDER.
  • LONG PERIODS OF STANDING.
  • MUST HAVE 1 YEAR OF PREVIOUS SIGN INSTALLATION EXPERIENCE.
  • Minimum of one year of sign industry experience as a professional sign maker/production/installation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and basic math skills
  • Background in vinyl creation and application and large format digital printing
  • Solid track record of accurately estimating and meeting deadlines
  • Detail-orientation and multi-tasking skills are critical
  • Must have flexibility to lean over a waist-high table and use back and forth hand motions to apply vinyl letters and graphics to a substrate.
  • Able to use light power tools and hardware for sign making and installation
  • Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Follow a layout to place computer-generated vinyl or full color graphic images on a pre-determined substrate or medium.
  • Prepare substrates for application, which may include cutting, painting, laminating, cleaning, and maintaining the substrates for vinyl application.
  • Weeds excess vinyl from computer cut images
  • Performs quality assurance measures pre- and post-production.
  • Performs finishing operations such as laminating, encapsulating, and mounting of printed pieces
  • Reports inventory levels and stock to be ordered
  • Helps unload raw materials and cleans and maintains storage areas.
  • Performs routine machine maintenance and minor repairs when necessary.
  • Installs signs as necessary
  • Loads material on/into printer and or laminator which may require some heaving lifting.
  • Maintains all equipment including computers, plotters, and printers (water-soluble prints, thermal transfer printers, etc.)
  • Additional requirements include cutting printed graphics using a variety of wall cutters, saws, and Exacto blades; and building interiors and exteriors using a ladder or mechanical lift system. Careful attention to detail utilizing work orders that outline specifics for each custom order is paramount.
