Requirements

MUST HAVE 1 YEAR OF PREVIOUS SIGN MAKING EXPERIENCE WITH SPECIFIC MACHINERY!
MUST BE ABLE TO LIFT 50 LBS OR MORE.
MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ON A LADDER.
LONG PERIODS OF STANDING.
MUST HAVE 1 YEAR OF PREVIOUS SIGN INSTALLATION EXPERIENCE.
Minimum of one year of sign industry experience as a professional sign maker/production/installation.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and basic math skills
Background in vinyl creation and application and large format digital printing
Solid track record of accurately estimating and meeting deadlines
Detail-orientation and multi-tasking skills are critical
Must have flexibility to lean over a waist-high table and use back and forth hand motions to apply vinyl letters and graphics to a substrate.
Able to use light power tools and hardware for sign making and installation
Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Follow a layout to place computer-generated vinyl or full color graphic images on a pre-determined substrate or medium.
Prepare substrates for application, which may include cutting, painting, laminating, cleaning, and maintaining the substrates for vinyl application.
Weeds excess vinyl from computer cut images
Performs quality assurance measures pre- and post-production.
Performs finishing operations such as laminating, encapsulating, and mounting of printed pieces
Reports inventory levels and stock to be ordered
Helps unload raw materials and cleans and maintains storage areas.
Performs routine machine maintenance and minor repairs when necessary.
Installs signs as necessary
Loads material on/into printer and or laminator which may require some heaving lifting.
Maintains all equipment including computers, plotters, and printers (water-soluble prints, thermal transfer printers, etc.)
Additional requirements include cutting printed graphics using a variety of wall cutters, saws, and Exacto blades; and building interiors and exteriors using a ladder or mechanical lift system. Careful attention to detail utilizing work orders that outline specifics for each custom order is paramount.
