About The Position

Performs operation to sand exposed wood frame parts, fram sub-assmeblies, and/or materials. Work on a variety of parts as assigned performing sanding operations for correct smoothness to ensure completion of work is to quantity and quality standards.

Requirements

• One to two years of experience sanding and in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Roll cart/buggy of parts to workstation.
• Sand wood parts to desired texture as required, breaking sharp edges as needed using a pump, side stroke, lever stroker sander.
• Use pneumatic orbital sander (jitterbug), and apply light pressure to smooth out the wood parts and frames.
• Use glue and wood putty to fill-in cracks with a chisel and putty knife.
• Neatly stack wood parts on cart/buggy as completed keep count of how many parts are completed/needed on ticket.
• If short, notify team leader.
• Keep work area clean and neat.
• May perform other duties/special or non-routine assignments as instructed.
