About The Position

Pirc-Tobin Construction is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Side / Belly Dump Semi Driver to support our heavy civil construction projects. This role is responsible for safely operating semi trucks with side dump and belly dump trailers to haul aggregates, dirt, broken pavement, and other construction materials to and from active job sites, quarries, and dump locations. The ideal candidate is reliable, adaptable, and team-oriented, with a strong commitment to safety and professionalism. Drivers will work closely with dispatch, foremen, and crews to ensure efficient material delivery while maintaining compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards.

Requirements

Applicant must pass a physical ability test and drug screening prior to employment
Must be flexible with work hours, including overtime and occasional weekends as project demands require
Must demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to assist crews as needed
Safety-oriented mindset with respect for job-site rules and procedures
Class B CDL w/ Air Brake Endorsement (Class A Preferred)
Clean Driving Record
Current Iowa DOT Physical

Responsibilities

Operate side dump and belly dump semi trucks to haul dirt, aggregates, broken pavement, and construction materials
Safely load, transport, and unload materials on active construction sites, quarries, and haul routes
Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report mechanical or safety issues
Follow all DOT, FMCSA, MSHA, and company safety regulations
Communicate with dispatch, foremen, and job-site crews to ensure accurate and efficient deliveries
Maintain accurate daily logs, load tickets, and trucking documentation
Keep truck and trailer clean, well-maintained, and job-ready
Assist crews and support job-site operations as needed (labor tasks may include lifting, carrying, shoveling, etc.)
