About The Position

At Gibson Engineering, we are looking for a Sales Specialist to support the SICK Sensor Technology brand and to grow SICK sales and market share across the entire territory. The Specialist needs a sales-based mindset and strong technical aptitude to capture the mindshare of the salesforce by providing them with the tools and resources to be successful. This person needs to be a self-starter with the innate ability to understand the needs of Gibson Engineering and customers, utilizing collective experiences, knowledge, and expertise to fulfill those needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline
  • 3-5 years of experience in technical sales
  • Demonstrated knowledge of costing, pricing, sales practices, and techniques
  • Highly developed sense of integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction
  • Familiar with technical product applications, demonstrations, and customer relations

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of industrial automation products is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Be the trusted advisor and main point of contact with SICK, effectively managing communications across customers, their organization, and SICK, ensuring all parties are engaged and working together.
  • Be front and center with the sales team, joining salespeople on customer calls to assist in closing business while also coaching them on how to sell SICK, and providing them with the tools and resources to be successful.
  • Responsible for introducing new products to the organization, utilizing SICK-defined training while also recognizing and addressing gaps within their own organization to ensure the sales team has appropriate knowledge to sell the SICK product line.
  • Have a deep understanding of SICK’s products, technologies, advantages, and limitations, partnering with the sales team as the technical expert on presales efforts and closing business.
  • Work closely with the leadership team and the SICK Channel Manager to build a robust strategy to grow the business, and be responsible for the plan and ensuring the KPIs within the plan are met.
  • Participate in trade shows, lead local events, and engage in marketing efforts, utilizing all tools at their disposal to grow SICK sales.
