About The Position

Southern Industrial Constructors seeks a Combo Welder for a project in Greensboro, NC. The position involves selecting equipment and planning layout, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of physical properties of metal machining weld shrinkage, and welding techniques. The Combo Welder will lay out, position, align, and fit components together, bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure in position for welding, and set up equipment and weld parts using various welding techniques. Additional responsibilities include assembling parts by bolting and riveting, repairing products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts, and performing safety inspections of the work area, equipment, and tools. Regular attendance is required, and the position may involve strenuous physical demands.

Requirements

• Certification at one or more levels is required.
• Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas.
• Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts.
• Must be capable of standing for long periods of time and bending consistently.

Responsibilities

• Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding.
• Lay out, position, align, and fit components together.

• Set up equipment and weld parts using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment.
• Assemble parts by bolting and riveting.

• Perform safety inspections of work area, equipment, and tools.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized working environment.
• Complete all safety and general job training as required.
