About The Position

The Shuttle Driver at US Foods is responsible for operating a tractor-trailer between distribution centers and shuttle yards, ensuring the safe and efficient exchange of loaded and empty trailers. This role is crucial to the company's operations, emphasizing integrity, reliability, and building trusting relationships with customers. Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have valid CDL A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualified.
• Minimum six months commercial truck driving experience or three months of foodservice or food and beverage truck delivery experience required.
• Double endorsement license required.

Responsibilities

• Operate a tractor-trailer between US Foods distribution centers and shuttle yards.
• Switch out loaded trailers with empty trailers safely and efficiently.
• Check route numbers and account numbers for all assigned deliveries.
• Check customer invoices of products that have been loaded.
• Move tractor to the loading dock to attach pre-loaded trailer and/or attach a second trailer with the dolly.
• Hook trailers carefully, ensuring all connections are correct.
• Use electronic timekeeping system to log in time at stop site.
• Check for returns and paperwork on trailers shuttling back to the distribution center.
• Perform safety checks on the truck and trailer.
• Fuel the truck as required; unhook and secure trailer; park and secure tractor and hand truck.
