About The Position

Under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor the Truck Driver Class A is responsible for safely, efficiently, and effectively operating the company semi and related equipment. The Truck Driver Class A is a key component of our overall business success. Essential Duties and Responsibilities This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time. 1. Follow the guidelines of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), uniform and dress code, and product safety requirements. 2. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards, keeping work area clean and safe at all times. 3. Maintain a good attendance record and positive attitude. 4. Support company policies and be safety conscious at all times. 5. Report safety concerns and defective equipment to immediate supervisor. 6. Operate the semi in a safe manner in compliance with current DOT requirements. 7. Ensure that all related equipment meets DOT licensing requirements, such as DOT inspections. 8. Ensure that equipment is kept clean and presents a professional image. 9. Check oil and other fluid levels daily. 10. Maintain a Class A CDL license, as required by law. 11. Keep accurate records of fuel and fluid purchases, and miles driven by state. 12. Maintain DOT required records. 13. Work extended schedules as the needs of the business dictate. 14. Work in other areas as workload demands. 15. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 25 years of age.
  • Must have a valid CDL-A license and have at least 2 years of experience driving a 53 ft. tractor trailer.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, plus overtime and weekends when required.
  • Must be available Monday through Friday; weekend work and overtime may also be required.
  • Requires education generally equivalent to a high school diploma.
  • Requires a Class A CDL license.
  • Must be able to use a GPS.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to team leaders, managers, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, tools, or controls; reach above shoulders; and talk and listen.
  • The employee is occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and use foot/feet to operate machine.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job included close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
