About The Position

The Shuttle Driver must follow all plant safety, Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety rules and regulations. Documentation and paperwork procedures must be followed as well as verbal and / or written instructions and guidelines according to the job requirements. The Shuttle Driver will make pick-ups and deliveries using the company’s vehicle, load and unload product and/or waste, complete necessary documentation, and foster positive relationships with vendors through exceptional service and timely completion of duties. The Shuttle Driver will back-up the Production Worker I and Production Worker II as needed. This role does not have direct reports. Shuttle Driver back-up would be a third-party contractor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required
  • Valid Class A license required
  • 2 years tractor/trailer driving experience required
  • Must adhere to all State MVR Regulations and Certifications, DOT Drug/Alcohol Testing and MVR Screening
  • Follow instructions and established routines, methods and procedures, making minor decisions as needed.
  • Ability to use forklift, and common hand tools.
  • Continuous mental and visual attention is required to perform duties, involving repetitive or diversified work requiring constant alertness or activity.
  • Basic mathematics skills required. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and perform simple division calculations.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new job-related software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy required.
  • Effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be respectful and work well with all levels of personnel.
  • Must be able to perform on-call duty on any shift and work overtime on short notice basis. Long-term, temporary assignments to any shift may be required to maintain manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to work in high temperatures (hot or cold), working at heights and exposure to strong smells, dust, gases, fumes and chemical or require personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to use Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Must be able to see, sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, reach, bend, twist, ascend/ descend.
  • Ability to pull, push, lift and carry up to 50 lbs., 50+ lbs. with assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Mizkan America safety policies, OSHA regulations, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and SOP (Standard Operating Procedures).
  • Perform duties to deliver product or waste water to designated locations.
  • Ability to read and interpret maps to locate designated areas.
  • Load and unload vehicle as required.
  • Sign off with vendors for items received or released; complete and maintain all documentation required for required recordkeeping.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs, malfunctions, or damages to the supervisor for immediate attention.
  • Wash and maintain cleanliness of assigned vehicle.
  • Manage routes to ensure accurate and timely delivery of product.
  • Continuous mental and visual attention required to drive truck, involving repetitive or diversified work requiring constant alertness or activity.
  • Assist as a back-up on the bottling lines as needed and time permits.
  • Responsible for food product quality and safety.
  • Comply with reasonable requests as indicated by supervisor or manager.
