About The Position

We are seeking shuttle drivers to work overnights in Rochester, NY. We operate passenger vehicles which do not require a CDL - however, if you have a CDL you get paid extra and are encouraged to apply! Non-CDL drivers earn $21/hour to start. Applicants who already have a CDL (w/ P endorsement) earn $25/hour to start. VPA offers weekly payroll - get a check, direct deposit, or a pay card each week! Currently, we are seeking drivers who can work part time 10:30pm-5:30am. These positions will operate 7 days, and we are seeking staff who are interested in working 2, 3, or 5 nights per week. Friday and Saturday nights will be needed. A FT role can be created with other hours if so desired. The role involves using software similar to on-demand ride share services, but using a company-owned vehicle, so no wear and tear on your own! We are transporting students of a local college in a safe ride program.

Requirements

  • valid class D (Non-CDL) license in good standing
  • Due to our insurance regulations, shuttle drivers must be at least 20 years old.
  • A valid DOT Medical card is also required.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional driving experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting patrons in a polite manner and assisting them in any way we can
  • Safely shuttling customers to various destinations
  • Opening and closing doors for patrons
  • Adhering to all traffic laws/signs to ensure the safest possible operation of our shuttles
  • Communicating effectively with customers and co-workers. This includes radio contact with management, shuttle drivers, and lot attendants
  • Completing required pre-trip inspections to meet federal as well as company safety requirements
  • Recording passenger counts and trip times
  • Completing necessary paperwork involved in daily operations
  • Assisting in equipment set up and break down (i.e. signs, cones, etc.)
  • Sweeping shuttles and removing debris to ensure cleanliness
  • Communicating mechanical problems with shuttles to management
  • Complying with company procedures for shuttle operations
