About the position

The purpose of the DOT Shuttle Driver is to perform pickup and delivery of daily routes to domicile drivers and return empty trailers for reloading back to the warehouse. The driver is expected to perform as a safe and courteous driver, maintain cleanliness of tractors/trailers, adhere to FMCSA laws and regulations, ensure trailers and tractors are adequately fueled, and bring tractors and trailers in for service when needed. The position requires a commitment to safety and compliance, as well as excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform as a safe and courteous driver and demonstrate BEK principles during interactions with the public.
  • Maintain cleanliness of tractors/trailers used during the shift to ensure the upkeep and overall condition of equipment.
  • Adhere to all FMCSA laws and regulations to demonstrate compliance at all times.
  • Ensure trailers and tractors are adequately fueled and fuel levels are consistently maintained on equipment used at the WHS or shuttle site.
  • Ensure tractors and trailers are brought in for service when needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) preferred
  • At least 1 year of DOT driving experience required
  • Valid Class 'A' CDL with Doubles endorsement
  • Knowledge of FMCSA rules and regulations required
  • Ability to read and interpret rules/guidelines, operating and maintenance instructions
  • Good computer skills
  • Ability to learn internal applications i.e. BC and POD equipment
  • Able to work outside in extreme temperatures (cold and hot)
