About The Position

The Shuttle Car Operator is responsible for performing all duties and activities in a manner that conforms to site-specific safety requirements, company policy, and state and federal regulations. The operator will visually check the shuttle car and roadways for obstructions or people, install or relocate shuttle car anchor points as needed, tram to the miner, load the shuttle car, and return to the dumping point. Additionally, the operator will assist in moving the miner from place to place, ensuring that cables are managed properly.

Requirements

• Underground coal miner's certificate.
• Annual 8-hour refresher training.
• On-the-job experience.
• Knowledge of section mining cycle.
• Hand, foot, eye coordination similar to operating an automobile.
• Familiarity with Safe Job Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, company safety policies, and applicable rules and regulations.
