About The Position

Requirements

• Class A license.
• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must have a valid Washington driver's license at the time of hire.
• Must not have any health-related issues that prevents or restricts prolonged driving.
• Some knowledge of military operations and schedules.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Must possess and continuously maintain a current State of Washington driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Drives minibus or van to transport clients, trainees, or company personnel.
• Drives vehicle from individual or central loading area to social services or rehabilitation center, training location, job site, or other destination according to assigned schedule.
• Assists disabled passengers into and out of vehicle, secures passengers' wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during trip.
• Operates radio or similar device to communicate with base station or other vehicles to report disruption of service.
• Cleans and/or services vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories.
• Keeps records of trips and/or behavior of passengers.
• Performs other duties when not driving such as custodial and building maintenance tasks.
• Ensures that passengers are safely loaded and unloaded from their buses (Vans).
• Inspects vehicle at the beginning and end of their shift to ensure that it is functioning correctly.
• Reads street maps and understands their route by studying maps if necessary.
• Maintains contact with the dispatcher and keeps track of passenger pickups and drop-offs as necessary for log count.
